The Particulars
The No. 6 Harvard men's squash team hosts No. 1 Trinity
Wednesday at the Barnaby Courts in a match that was postponed from
Jan. 26. Trinity brings an 12-0 season record to Cambridge, while
the Crimson is 7-3, 3-2 Ivy.
Last Time Out
Harvard split a pair of matchups last week, downing No. 10 Penn but
falling to No. 3 Princeton. The Crimson defeated the Quakers 8-1
Saturday, but the Tigers took down seven Crimson to win 7-2.
About Harvard
The Crimson is 4-1 since returning to play after winter. Sweeps of
No. 13 St. Lawrence and No. 24 Hamilton were sandwiched between 8-1
wins over No. 9 Western Ontario and Penn.
About Trinity
The Bantams enter Wednesday's contest riding the longest win
streak in the history of intercollegiate varsity sports with 238
wins. Trinity's three most recent wins in the streak came
during the NESCAC tournament Feb. 5 -9. The Bantams picked up wins
over Colby, Middlebury and Williams to win their fifth straight
conference title.
Last Year's Meeting
Trinity handed Harvard its only shutout loss of the 2009-10 season.
The Bantams beat the visiting Crimson, 9-0.
History of a Streak
The Bantams have won 238 straight matches dating back to the
1996-97 season. The last team to defeat Trinity was Harvard Feb. 7,
1997. The Crimson won 7-2 and finished that season 13-0.
Returning Home
Tonight's match against Trinity is the first at home for the
Crimson since Dec. 1. Harvard is currently 3-0 at the Barnaby
Courts this season and look to continue that streak against
Trinity.
