CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 6 Harvard
men's squash team tested No. 1 Trinity early and often, but
the Bantams were able to come away with a 6-3 win over the Crimson.
Trinity extends its win streak to 239 matches, while the Crimson
fell to 7-4 this season.
Using a three-court system, Harvard picked up an early point in
the No. 9 match. William Ahmed defeated Daniel Echavarria, 3-1, to
earn the Crimson's first point.
Down 2-1, Thomas Mullaney gave Harvard the equalizer, winning
the No. 7 match. Mullaney outlasted Juan Flores in five sets, 9-11,
11-7, 11-8, 11-3, 11-8.
Trinity was able to pull away earning the necessary five
victories, but not before Gary Power downed previously unbeaten
Parth Sharma. Sharma entered the match with a 12-0 record this
season, but Harvard's Power captured a 3-1 decision to earn
Harvard's third victory of the match.
The Crimson will conclude the regular season Saturday when Ivy
League rival Yale visits Cambridge. The match is scheduled for a 4
p.m. start.
