SAN DIEGO – A day after getting swept in the top five singles matches, the Harvard men's tennis team pulled the same feat, picking up wins at No. 1 through No. 5, as well as the doubles point, to defeat Alabama-Birmingham, 6-1, Friday in the consolation bracket of the Hilton Mission Valley Spring Classic.
After picking up the doubles point for the third straight match with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 slot, the Crimson's (8-7) momentum continued into singles with Jonathan Pearlman winning at No. 1, Alistair Felton winning at No. 2, Aba Omodele-Lucien taking the victory at No. 3, Andy Nguyen topping his opponent at No. 4 and Casey MacMaster wrapping things up at the No. 5 slot.
Chris Helliar earned the Blazers' (3-7) lone win in singles with a two-set victory over Joshua Tchan at No. 6, who was Harvard's lone singles victor Thursday.
