CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After another strong season on the court, the Crimson were well represented in the ITA New England Regional Awards, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced yesterday. Beginning with its coaching staff, Associate Head Coach
Sanam Singh, was named the ITA Assistant Coach of the Year. The Crimson's student-athletes followed with
Rohan Murali earning the ITA Player to Watch,
Benjamin Privara getting another Rookie of the Year under his belt, and
Daniel Milavsky being rewarded for his dominant season with the ITA Senior Player of the Year award.
Daniel Milavsky – ITA Senior Player of the Year
Milavsky recorded one of the most dominant seasons in recent memory as he totaled an 18-6 singles record and a near-perfect 18-2 doubles record throughout the dual matches. The senior raised his level even more following a 51-win junior season that earned him the ITA New England Region Most Improved Player award. While spending the entirety of the season at the top singles spot and the top two doubles positions, Milavsky was twice named unanimous First Team All-Ivy. The Massachusetts native finishes his collegiate career with 74 singles wins and 85 doubles victories. Milavsky is the 12
th Crimson student-athlete to win a regional senior player of the year honor and the second in the last three seasons.
The first-year standout earned the ITA Rookie of the Year award to go along with his Ivy League rookie honor. While playing at the No. 2 singles spot, Privara totaled 12 victories and also added 16 doubles wins. In his first collegiate season, the Slovakia native reached career-high rankings of No. 68 in singles and No. 14 in doubles. Privara is the first Crimson player in 25 years to be named ITA Regional Rookie of the Year, following up Ashwin Kumar '08 who was also named Ivy League and ITA Regional Rookie of the Year in 2005.
Murali has been a consistent presence in the singles lineup for the Crimson throughout his first two seasons in Cambridge. Beginning with nine wins in his first collegiate season, Murali improved with 16 victories in his sophomore campaign while playing primarily at the No. 4 spot. With the Crimson graduating its top singles player and with an already strong presence in the lineup, the California native was tabbed the New England Region Player to Watch.
Sanam Singh – ITA Assistant Coach of the Year
Singh entered his seventh season with the Crimson in 2024-25 and his fourth as Associate Head Coach. The ITA Assistant Coach of the Year honor this season marks Singh's third in four years, previously earning the award in 2022 and 2023. Singh helped lift the Crimson to its third straight 20-win season this year. Additionally, he mentored several of All-Ivy honorees including the Ivy Rookie of the Year and two first team selections.
