INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the 2011 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals and Harvard's Bonnie Hu was among the 18 individual participants nationwide to be invited.

Hu, a freshman from Fremont, Calif., becomes Harvard's first individual qualifier for the NCAA tournament.  Hu will compete in the Central regional at Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Indiana. The University of Notre Dame will host.

Hu led Harvard this season with a 75.55 scoring average. She had six top-10 finishes as well as a medalist spot in a dual match against California on March 17. Against Cal, she had her second-best scoring round of the year with a 71 to finish -1.  Her best round came in her first collegiate outing, a 70 as part of a fourth place finish at the Princeton Women's Invitational back in September.

Three regional tournaments will be conducted May 5-7 to determine the championships field. Regional tournaments are considered preliminary rounds of NCAA championships competition, and all national championships policies apply.

A total of 378 participants have been selected for regional competition. Of these players, 126 will advance to the championships finals. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional.

The championships finals will be held May 18-21 at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas and will be hosted by Texas A&M University, College Station.

The East regional will be played at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida and will be hosted by Stetson University and the Central Florida Sports Commission. Conference automatic qualifiers are indicated in parenthesis next to the institution.
