CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Freshman Christine Lin
of the Harvard women's golf team has been named one of the Top 50
Female Players to Watch by Golf World Magazine.
Lin, who hails from Austin, Texas, won 15 of 32 events during her
career at Westwood High School. A UIL All-Region Girl's Golf
selection from 2009-12, Lin was a two-time all-state honoree and
had eight top-5 finishes in AJGA tournaments from 2009-11. She was
also awarded the 2011 HP Scholastic Junior All-America
accolades.
AJGA Polo Golf ranked Lin ninth in the nation for incoming
freshmen, and she played in the USGA Women's Amateur Championships
this past summer.
Lin's honor by Golf World continues Harvard's stretch of
recent accolades by newcomers. Last year, Tiffany Lim was
named the nation's sixth-best freshman by Golfweek. Lin
was tabbed the Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2012, giving
Harvard three of the last four top honors for the conference's top
freshmen (Christine Cho and Katie Sylvan).
