Canton, N.Y. – In its first road test of the season, No. 1 Harvard men's squash (1-1) took on No. 2 St. Lawrence (5-0) this afternoon and fell, 7-2.The Crimson faced off against some of the best competition in the country and forced extra sets in five of nine matchups.
Freshman, Bradley Smith picked up the second victory of his young career, taking down the Saints' Edgar Zayas, at the No.2 position, 3-1. Senior captain, Tyler Olson was also victorious, taking the match, 3-0, at the No. 7 position.
Sophomore Devin McLaughlin played a five-set thriller at the No. 6 position, but was edged out by St. Lawrence's Hussien Elrayes 3-2. Dylan Murray, Bryan Koh and Matt Roberts fell but fought hard, forcing four sets in all three matches.
The Crimson will be back in action tomorrow, Dec. 6 at noon against No. 5 Rochester to close out 2014.
