The Crimson return to Boston after a 2-1 trip to Georgia for the Benson Hospitality Invitational (Gil Talbot).

Last Time Out
The Harvard women's volleyball team rebounded from a hard fought defeat on Friday to knock off both Georgia and UNC Asheville on Saturday to conclude play at the Benson Hospitality Invitational.

Harvard first earned the upset over host Georgia by set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-21, before knocking off UNC Asheville 27-25, 25-20, 26-24. The Crimson improved to 4-2 overall with the victories.

Fast Start
Harvard has gone 4-2 to begin the season for the second straight year and third time in four years. Additionally, the Crimson's 4-2 record matches the program's best record to start a season under head coach Jennifer Weiss, who is in her 22nd year at the helm, and has equaled the program's best start since going 7-1 to open the 1984 campaign.

Feeling Honored
Sophomore Corinne Bain was named the Ivy League Player of the Week on Sept. 16 after helping the Crimson to a 2-1 record at the Benson Hospitality Invitational. Bain led Harvard in kills (2.64), assists (6.82) and aces (0.82) while ranking second in digs (2.36), and third in hitting percentage (.333) and blocks (0.55).

This marked the first Ivy League Player of the Week award for Bain this season after collecting one player of the week and five rookie of the week honors last year.

Behind the Crimson
GoCrimson.com spent a day with the women's volleyball team, beginning at 8 a.m. with the team's lift and concluding at 7:00 p.m. with a team meal. Go behind-the-scenes to see what a typical day is like for the Crimson.

Can You Dig It?
Senior Sindhu Vegesena earned the starting role for the Crimson at libero and did not disappoint in the team's first weekend of action, averaging 5.91 dps in three matches at the Harvard Invitational and being named to the all-tournament team. Vegesena registered 22 digs in Harvard's first match of the year, a thrilling 3-2 victory over Santa Clara, before setting a new career-high with 34 digs in a 3-0 win over Central Connecticut State.

Vegesena's 34 digs against CCSU were the most by a member of the Crimson in a three-set match since 2008, the last year for which match-by-match statistics are available, and rank as the fourth most overall for the program in that time.

Tripling Up
Sophomore Corinne Bain has recorded seven career triple-doubles, including a 14-kill, 29-assist, 17-dig performance this past weekend against Georgia. Bain, the 2013 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, posted six triple-doubles a year ago, the second highest total by a freshman in the nation.

Changing Expectations
Harvard women's volleyball head coach Jennifer Weiss caught up with GoCrimson.com to preview the upcoming season and discus how despite changing expectations, this year's team will follow a consistent approach.

Home Court Advantage
Harvard boasted a 9-2 record in the friendly confines of the Malkin Athletic Center a year ago, marking the best home record in program history. The Crimson women, led by the senior class of Kristen Casey, Sindhu Vegesena and Caroline Walters, has posted a 22-11 record at home over the past three years while the men's team has gone 25-7.

Continuing the Momentum
Harvard finished the 2013 season with a 14-9 overall record and 9-5 in Ivy League play, good for second place in the Ancient Eight. The Crimson's 14 total wins and nine conference victories marked the most for the program since 2004, while its 9-2 record at home was a program best.

Returning to the Floor
The Crimson returns four All-Ivy League performers to the court in 2014 including last year's Rookie of the Year and first team recipient Corinne Bain. Classmate Grace Weghorst and junior Kathleen Wallace were also voted to the first team a year ago, while Caroline Walters earned second team honors for the second consecutive year.

On The Sidelines
Harvard women's volleyball head coach Jennifer Weiss returns for her 22nd season at the helm of the Crimson. Weiss' has led Harvard to 267 wins during her tenure, and guided the Crimson to its only Ivy League championship in 2004. She has mentored 52 All-Ivy honorees, six Ivy League Rookie of the Year recipients and coached the program's first two-time Ivy League Player of the Year in Kaego Ogbechie '05.

Weiss is joined on the sidelines by second-year assistants Arturo Rivera and Jeffrey Aucoin.
