CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team will hit the road for the Bay Area, where it will face No. 10 Stanford and No. 5 California Feb. 14 and 15. Both contests are slated to begin at 3 p.m., EST.
Last Time Out
In its second home contest of the spring season, the No. 49 Harvard women's tennis team defeated No. 70 North Texas, 4-3. The win was Harvard's third straight, and pushed its record to 4-1.
Annika Ringblom secured the clinching point at No. 3 singles for Harvard in its third win of the season over a ranked opponent. With the score knotted at three apiece, Ringblom took the Mean Green's Anastasiya Shestakova to three sets, prevailing 5-7, 7-6, 6-4 to send the Crimson to the victory.
Harvard also got singles victories from Nikki Kallenberg, Monica Lin and Ellen Jang-Milsten, from the first, second, and fourth singles positions, respectively. Kallenberg earned a 6-1, 6-4 result in the top spot, while Lin defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-3 from the second slot. Jang-Milsten, playing No. 4 singles, won a three-set match, 7-5, 2-6, 6-2.
Scouting No. 10 Stanford
Stanford enters Saturday's tilt with Harvard at 4-0, with all four wins coming against ranked opponents. Most recently, the Cardinal knocked off No. 19 Notre Dame and No. 31 Ohio State, 6-1 and 4-1, respectively. The squad boasts three players currently ranked in the ITA top-16, including Carol Zhao (No. 10), Taylor Davidson (No. 14), and Caroline Doyle (No. 16).
Scouting No. 5 California
The Golden Bears sit at 4-1 entering Sunday's contest with the Crimson, most recently falling in the ITA National Women's Team Indoors against Georgia. Cal has posted wins over Michigan State, No. 45 Saint Mary's, No. 11 Vanderbilt and No. 20 TCU to this point. The squad is led by Maegan Manasse, who is currently the top-ranked student-athlete in the country.

Playing in five tournaments during the fall, Harvard earned plenty of hardware. The Crimson won two of three flights at the Cissie Leary Invitational, all-four singles groups at the Billie Jean King Invite, and every division at the Harvard Invitational.
Overall in 2014-15, freshman Ellen Jang-Milsten leads the team with 14 singles victories, though sophomore June Lee and freshman Nikki Kallenberg are close behind with 13 apiece. All of Harvard's student-athletes sport a record above .500. In doubles play, Monica Lin has combined with teammates for 16 wins, with Annika Ringblom in second with 13.
The Crimson student-athletes have combined for a 127-56 (.694) overall record, including an 88-37 mark in singles play and 39-19 record in doubles.

The Crimson has won three-straight matches, each coming at the racquet of a ranked opponent. First, Harvard knocked off No. 45 DePaul at the ITA Kickoff Weekend, and then proceeded to take down No. 60 Boston College and No. 70 North Texas. Freshmen Nikki Kallenberg and Annika Ringblom are both 3-0 in singles play during the streak, while Ringblom and Monica Lin have gone unbeaten playing doubles.
A Breath of Fresh Air
Harvard's three freshmen have adjusted well to collegiate tennis, combining for a 34-10 record in singles play and 27-15 when paired with a teammate. In the fall, Nikki Kallenberg won the A-division at the Billie Jean King Invitational, Ellen Jang-Milsten won the A-division at the Harvard Invitational, and Annika Ringblom paired with Monica Lin to win the doubles flight at the Cissie Leary Invitational.

On the Sidelines
Traci Green is in her eighth season at the helm for the Crimson. Under her guidance, Harvard won the program's 18th Ivy League title in 2009 with a 13-8 overall record and a 6-1 conference mark. Green owns a 77-64 overall record, including a 75-47 mark over the past six-plus seasons, and 30-19 mark in the Ancient Eight.
