WEST CHESTER, Penn. - Harvard women's rugby opened its regular season with a 23-17 road win at West Chester. The opening day win marks the first time in program history Harvard started its regular season with a victory.
Haley Langan opened the game with a try to start the Crimson attack.
Ann-Marie Barrett folowed with another try and Claire Collins scored Harvard's third try of the game to further Harvard's lead.
With Harvard holding a 15-12 edge, Mariah Turner notched another Crimson try to extend the Crimson lead, 20-12.
West Chester would not go down without a fight, scoring a try late in the game to make it a three-point contest again.
However, the Crimson capitalized on a penalty try and sealed the game, 23-17, over the Golden Rams.
