CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis begins its 2016 schedule with a home contest versus Cornell on Sunday, Jan. 24 starting at 12:00 p.m. The matchup will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
Last Time Out
Harvard hosted its last fall tournament of the semester competing against Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Boston University in a three-day event. Senior Amy He managed a 5-0 record in three singles matches and two doubles matches with partners Sabrina Xiong and Danielle Mirda.

The Crimson competed in four tournaments in the fall, including the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional. Nikki Kallenberg and Annika Ringblom lead Harvard with 10-2 and 9-3 records, respectively, while Ringblom and Amanda Lin lead the Crimson with an undefeated 4-0 mark in doubles play. Harvard boasts a 65-36 overall record, going 44-23 in singles play and 21-13 in doubles.

Series vs. Cornell
Harvard has controlled the all-time series with Cornell, where the Crimson leads the series 36-2 (.947). The last time the two teams faced each other was on April 3, 2015 where the Big Red hosted and secured the win, 5-2. This is the best record that the Crimson has against any of the Ancient Eight teams. Harvard's next best mark is versus Columbia, with 26-4 (.867).

In the Ranks
Harvard's doubles pairing of Amanda Lin and Annika Ringblom broke into the national rankings at No. 52, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Jan. 5. Nikki Kallenberg fell to No. 125 as of Jan. 5 after being ranked No. 98 in the preseason poll.

Sophomores Nikki Kallenberg, Annika Ringblom, Ellen Jang-Milsten, juniors June Lee and Danielle Mirda, and seniors Amy He and Amanda Lin return from the 2014-15 squad that went 7-12 overall. Kallenberg is currently ranked No. 98 by the ITA and Ringblom was named to the All-Ivy League second team in doubles a year ago, concluding the season after recording a 16-12 season with a partner, including 3-4 mark in Ivy League play.

Fresh Faces
Head Coach Traci Green added the eighth-best recruiting class in the country according to TennisRecruiting.net. Erica Oosterhout, Sabrina Xiong, Isabel Jasper and Claire Spackman come to Harvard from around the world to make up Harvard's third consecutive top-ten class, and fifth in the past seven seasons. Oosterhout was ranked No. 8 in the top-10 Oracle/ITA Division I Women's National Newcomer/Freshmen Rankings.

On the Sidelines
Traci Green enters her ninth season at the helm for the Crimson. Under her guidance, Harvard won the program's 18th Ivy League title in 2009 with a 13-8 overall record and a 6-1 conference mark. Green owns a 114-103 overall record, including an 80-75 mark over the past nine seasons.

Senior Amy He was chosen to be the team's captain for the 2015-16 academic year. He is the 53rd captain in program history.
