ITHACA, N.Y. - Senior Corinne Bain notched her sixth triple-double of the season, notching 10 kills, 14 assists and 20 digs, to go along with eight total blocks and freshman Maclaine Fields added eight kills and a .471 hitting percentage to lead the Harvard women's volleyball team (7-13, 5-6 Ivy League) to a four set win over Cornell (10-11, 4-7 Ivy League). The Crimson won by set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-19, and 25-19.

Both freshman Isabelle Tashima (10 assists, 13 digs) and Erin McCarthy (19 assists, 19 digs) added double-doubles, while sophomore Jocelyn Meyer added a season-high nine kills to boost Harvard's attack.

The Crimson dropped the first set despite making just three attack errors and outhitting the Big Red .222 to .191. Leading 11-9 midway through the frame, Cornell used a 5-0 run to pull away from Harvard, which didn't get closer than four points the remainder of the set.

Harvard responded in the second set with a match-high 17 kills in the frame, as Bain, sophomore Christina Cornelius, and freshman Grace Roberts-Burbank each notched four kills to lead the Crimson.  With the set tied at 7-7, Harvard gradually pulled away from Cornell, winning seven of nine points in a run that included three kills by Fields and a service ace by McCarthy, who led Harvard with three on the night.

In the third set, Harvard rallied from an early 6-0 deficit, winning nine of the next 11 points, including a 5-0 run on Roberts Burbank's serve. Cornell battled back to take a 15-14 lead, but Harvard ran off the next four points to edge in front for good. On the set clinching point, Bain capitalized on a bad set by Cornell with a kill down the line.

Harvard fell behind again in the fourth set, but used Bain's serve to go on a long run, winning 11 points in a row to turn a 10-6 deficit to a 17-10 lead. Cornell closed to within one at 18-17, but Harvard would close out the match later on McCarthy's serve, winning three straight points on a run capped off by a kill down the middle.

The Crimson will take on Columbia tomorrow at 5 p.m. in a game that will be streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network.
