CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's tennis team (5-6) hosts non-conference Providence and Rhode Island at 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively, at the Murr Center on Sunday, March 13. The match against Rhode Island will be broadcast on the Ivy League Digital Network.
Last Time Out
The Crimson dropped to 5-6 overall as it fell to No. 41 William & Mary, 5-2, and Old Dominion, 4-2. Harvard's duo of Annika Ringblom and Sabrina Xiong posted its lone doubles win of the weekend, 6-4, against the Big Blue's Adriana Rajkovic and Natalya Malenko. June Lee, Amy He, Ringblom, and Xiong combined for the Crimson's four singles points in the two matches.

Amy He leads Harvard with a 15-3 record, while teammates Nikki Kallenberg and Erica Oosterhout follow with 14-6 and 13-6 marks, respectively. With a three-match clean sweep on Feb. 19-20, the Crimson earned its second ranking of the year, placing No. 57.
Harvard broke into the poll at No. 72 on Feb. 10 by the ITA after a successful weekend at the ECAC Division I Indoor Championship where it upset No. 43 Princeton and No. 53 Brown. This was the first ranking of the year for the Crimson.

Providence sports a 4-0 record after posting perfect 7-0 matches against Holy Cross and Fairfield. The Friars are 3-0 away from Providence, while Harvard leads the all-time series 1-0. The only standoff was on March 16, 1993 when the Crimson defeated the Friars 6-1 in Cambridge.
Scouting Rhode Island
Rhode Island owns a 2-6 record, posting victories over Monmouth (6-1) and Saint Peter's (7-0). The Rams have lost its last three matches away from the URI Tennis Complex. The Crimson leads Rhode Island 2-0 in the all-time series, posting the last victory on Jan. 19, 2015 in a 7-0 sweep at the Murr Center.

Fresh Faces
Head Coach Traci Green added the eighth-best recruiting class in the country according to TennisRecruiting.net. Erica Oosterhout, Sabrina Xiong, and Isabel Jasper come to Harvard from around the world to make up Harvard's third consecutive top-ten class, and fifth in the past seven seasons. Oosterhout was ranked No. 8 in the top-10 Oracle/ITA Division I Women's National Newcomer/Freshmen Rankings.

On the Sidelines
Traci Green is in her ninth season at the helm for the Crimson. Under her guidance, Harvard won the program's 18th Ivy League title in 2009 with a 13-8 overall record and a 6-1 conference mark. Green owns a 119-109 overall record, including an 85-81 mark over the past nine seasons.
