No. 4 Radcliffe Crew Takes Home Silver at Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 4 Harvard-Radcliffe lightweight crew medaled for the seventh-straight year at the 2016 Eastern Sprints Sunday afternoon. The varsity eight, stroked by Josie Theile, earned a silver medal with a time of 7:08.034.

The Black and White medaled in each event in which it competed. No. 2 Boston University won the event with a time of 7:04.601. The Black and White were open water ahead of Wisconsin, who stopped the clock in 7:14.645.

The second varsity posted a bronze-medal showing with a time of 7:35.318. Stroked by Serena Blacklow, Radcliffe was open water behind winner Wisconsin and the second-place BU boat.

Radcliffe won the novice four race in a two-boat heat with Princeton. Annabel O'Hagan stroked the N4 to a time of 8:44.652, six seconds ahead of the Tigers.

The third varsity won a silver medal, stopping the clock in 7:40.889. Wisconsin won the race with a time of 7:32.586. BU was open water behind the Black and White, dropping the flag nine seconds later.

Radcliffe will have nearly a month off from competition before competing at the IRA National Championships.
