Delgreco Added to Women’s Lightweight Rowing Staff

First-year head coach Elizabeth Hughes brings on Tony Delgreco.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University's Elizabeth Hughes, David K. Richards '61 Family Head Coach for Radcliffe Lightweight Crew, announced the hire of Tony Delgreco as assistant coach on Thursday morning. Delgreco comes to Cambridge from nearby Holy Cross, where he coached since 2023-24.

"I am thrilled to have Tony join our staff," said Hughes. "Tony Brings a quality and care to his coaching that aligns perfectly with the team's values and goals. He is curious to learn, committed to the process and has interest in the science behind the stroke. His previous experience and success as the associate head coach for the Holy Cross women's rowing program, shows that he has a deep understanding of how to build and maintain a positive team culture and seek out student-athletes who will continue to add to the top end speed and depth of the program."

Delgreco joined the staff at Holy Cross in the fall of 2023 as an assistant coach and was elevated to associate head coach for the 2025-26 year. Prior to his time on The Hill, Delgreco was a volunteer assistant coach at Boston University. In that role, he worked primarily with the Terriers' open weight 3v and 4v boats.

A Level 5 certified coach following his IRL fellowship, DelGreco has previous experience as a strength and conditioning coach at The Wise Decision in Detroit and 2SP Sports Performance in Bloomfield, Mich. He also interned at Barwis Methods in Plymouth, Mich. and Lewis Fitness and Performance in Erie, Pa.

A 2018 graduate of Mercyhurst, Delgreco competed for four years on the varsity lightweight rowing team.
