CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's volleyball team was unable to edge Georgia on Saturday to conclude play in the Beantown Challenge, falling to the Bulldogs, 3-0.
Corrine Bain and Grace Roberts-Burbank led the Crimson tallying six kills apiece with Christina Cornelius, Jocelyn Meyer and Maclaine Fields each earning five kills. Isabelle Tashima led Harvard in digs, earning 14 for the match, with support from Bain who tallied 16 assists.
Bain's efforts over the weekend earned her a spot on the All-Beantown Challenge team.
Harvard was unable to find a rhythm against Georgia and fell to the Bulldogs 25-16, 26-24, 25-17. The Crimson hit just .194 for the match, while the Bulldogs tallied a .457 hitting percentage.
The Crimson return to action at the Baden Invitational hosted by Long Beach State. On Sept. 9th, Harvard will face Duke at 11 a.m. PST and Loyola Marymount at 7 p.m. PST. The Crimson are set to play at 12 p.m. PST on Sept. 10 against Arizona State and at 8 p.m. PST against Pepperdine.
