CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Returning to Ivy League action, the Harvard men's soccer team battled Brown to a 1-1 tie, Saturday evening.

The Crimson struck first in the 20th minute. Freshman midfielder Sebastian Lindner-Liaw found sophomore forward Philip Hausen at the top of the six-yard box to give Harvard the 1-0 advantage. For the next 10 minutes Harvard kept the pressure on Brown goalkeeper Joey Cipicchio. Junior Cesar Farias and freshman Paolo Belloni-Urso ripped back-to-back shots on net but was unable to give the Crimson an insurance goal.

With under nine minutes remaining in the period, Brown junior Jack Hagstrom scored the equalizer, on a throw-in from senior Quinn English.  

Late in the regulation, the Bears looked poised to score. Attacking up the far sideline Brown junior Toby Howell pulled a shot towards the near-side post, but Harvard senior defender Justin Crichlow was there to knock the ball out of bounds and keep the match all square at one.   

Harvard Highlights:

• Hausen recorded his second goal of the season and now leads Harvard with seven points.
• Lindner-Liaw recorded his first assist of his college career on Harvard's goal.
• Senior Kyle Parks made his 11th start in net, recording five saves.

Game Notes:

• Shots were even between Harvard and Brown, each taking 21 shots over four periods.
• The tie snapped a two-game win-streak for Harvard against Brown.

Harvard returns to the pitch on Saturday Oct. 21, hosting Princeton at Jordan Field at 4:30 p.m. The match will be broadcast on the Ivy League Network.
