The Radcliffe lightweights will host Bates College April 2 (Zack Williamson).
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Radcliffe lightweight crew varsity four defeated Georgetown, but the Hoyas claimed the varsity eight race to retake the Class of 2004 Cup on the Potomac River Saturday.
On a clear morning with great conditions and a slight south-southwest wind (3-4 MPH) in the direction of the course, the Georgetown varsity eight crossed the line first in 6:09.7, almost eight seconds ahead of Radcliffe's pace of 6:17.6.
In the varsity four event, Radcliffe competed the race with a time of 6:56.5, well ahead of the Hoyas (7:04.2).
The Black and White will next compete Sunday, April 2 when Radcliffe hosts Bates College on the Charles River. The race will be streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network.
