CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The second-ranked Harvard men's squash team resumes action against No. 12 Western Ontario on Saturday, Jan. 20, at noon. The match will be streamed live on the Ivy League Network from the Murr Center.

The Crimson
Harvard shutout No. 3 St. Lawrence and No. 15 Cornell, before falling to Columbia, 5-4, last week. Sophomore Saadeldin Abouaish represented the Crimson in spot No. 1 for all three matches. Second-years Timothy Brownell and Sean Hughes and senior David Ryan occupied slots two through four. Except when freshman Samuel Scherl got the nod at No. 4 against Cornell. Senior Madhav Dhingra picked up two wins a spot five, while first-year Adam Corcoran went 3-0 at slots seven and nine. Seniors Mandela Patrick and Bradley Smith along with freshman Julien Gosset junior Alexi Gosset filled in the ladder for Harvard.

Scouting Western Ontario
Western Ontario (11-1) has won its previous six matches, including a 6-3 win over No. 15 Cornell. The Mustangs conclude their regular season this weekend. Western Ontario will play its final three matches at Harvard: Hobart - Friday, Jan. 19, Harvard, and Tufts – Saturday, Jan. 20. Sophomore David Mill will likely compete at slot one.

About Last Time
Harvard started the weekend with strong performances against No. 3 St. Lawrence and No. 15 Cornell. The Crimson closed out the road trip with a 5-4 loss to No. 4 Columbia. Harvard capitalized on the St. Lawrence lineup that missing one of its All-America honorees due to injury, whereas Columbia relied on its national champion to clinch its first-ever victory against Harvard. The Crimson demonstrated get determination against the Lions. Harvard stormed back from four points down to even the score heading into the match at No. 1, which was ultimately decided in the fifth game, 11-9.

Returning Swagger
The Crimson returns a lot of potential from a team that reached the Potter Cup finals and finished runner-up at the CSA National Team Championship. The reigning champions of the Ancient Eight feature four All-Ivy League selections in Abouaish, Brownwell, Dhingra, and Smith.

It's Gonna Be Hughes
Sophomore Sean Hughes carries a 19-match win-streak into this weekend's competition. The Newton Square, Pa., native went 14-0 at No. 4, 5, 6, and 8 as a freshman, before moving up to spots two and three this season.

Rhodes Scholar
Senior Mandela Patrick was named a 2018 Commonwealth Caribbean Rhodes Scholar in November of 2017. One of nine candidates from the region, he was selected for the honor and will spend two years pursuing master degrees in computer science and statistics. Patrick's time at Oxford will begin in October of 2018.

Welcome Back Potter?
Harvard seeks to claim its first Potter Cup since 2014 and return the prize to Cambridge. Trinity College, the current keepers of the cup, will host the CSA National Team Championship from Friday, Feb. 23 through Sunday, Feb. 25. The Crimson were edged by Trinity, 5-4, in the finals of the 2016-17 national tournament.
