CANTON, N.Y.– The third-ranked Harvard men's squash team swept No. 11 St. Lawrence, 9-0, Saturday, in the team's first road test of the season.
First-year Victor Crouin remained untouched at the team's No.1 position, besting St. Lawrence's Karim Ibrahim, 8-11, 11-5, 12-10, 11-6. Fellow first-year, Marwan Tarek, defeated Belal Nawar, 11-6, 11-5, 11-3 as the team's No. 2. Junior Timothy Brownell routed Enzo Coriliano, 8-11, 11-5, 11-5, 11-7, to round out the top-three.
With the team's fourth shutout of the season, the Crimson move to 7-0 with all seven wins coming by a score of either 9-0 or 8-1.
Harvard Highlights:
- Eight of the ten Harvard wins were 3-0 shutouts.
- The Crimson capture the all-time series lead against St. Lawrence, 5-4.
- Senior Alexi Gosset impressed with a 11-1, 11-1, 11-2 victory over Aran Thawani. His brother, Sophomore Julien Gosset, also won by a 3-0 decision against Cameron Warren, 11-1, 11-2, 11-2.
- Sophomore Samuel Scherl earned a 11-8, 11-5, 11-3 victory against George Willis as the team's No. 4.
