Women's Rugby Powers Past Quinnipiac on Senior Day, 64-7

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Behind stellar defense and a strong offense, the Crimson (3-1) powered past Quinnipiac (2-3), 64-7 in its final home contest of the regular season.

Senior Erica Jarrell got the Crimson rolling with a try in the opening minutes to take the lead. Quinnipiac quickly answered with a try and conversion to tie things up. This would be the last time the Bobcats would score in the match.

The Crimson scored 57 unanswered points en route to the win. Cassidy Bargell broke free for a big try following the Bobcats score. Arianna Romero and Achele Agada added to Harvard's lead with two tries to close out the first half 24-7.

The Crimson offense continued its success in the second half with Bargell's second try of the day. Senior Delia Hellander would go on to score a try and extend the lead to 36-7. Romero and Hellander scored their second tries of the match midway through the second half. First-year Brogan Mior tabbed her third try of the year with five minutes to go in the game. Jarrell capped off the game with a big run to make the final 64-7.

Harvard Highlights

  • Four Crimson tabbed a game-high two tries on the day: Erica Jarrell, Cassidy Bargell, Delia Hellander and Arianna Romero.
  • Brogan Mior tabbed 15 points with a try and five conversions, and leads the team with 37 points.
  • First-year Achele Agada scored her third try on the season for the Crimson.
  • Junior Milan Roberts added two conversions to put her at five for the season.

What's Next?
Harvard will travel to Ohio to face Notre Dame College on Saturday, Oct. 12. The game time and broadcast are to be announced at a later date.
