CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Since graduating from Harvard, multiple Crimson Baseball alumni have taken roles in the front office for MLB and MiLB teams.
Chase Aldridge '19 is currently working as a Development Coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Aldridge is a former Crimson baseball team captain.
Laurence Baer '85 is the CEO of the San Francisco Giants and oversaw the team's World Series championships in 2012 and 2014.
Jeff Bridich '00 was hired by the Colorado Rockies to manage the team's MiLB operations in 2004. Bridich is now the Senior Vice President & General Manager for the Colorado Rockies.
Ben Crockett '02 was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2002 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies. Crockett transitioned into a front office roll in 2007 as an intern for baseball operations for the Boston Red Sox and is now the Vice President of Player Development for the Red Sox.
Greg Davey '13 is currently the Assistant Director of Baseball Operations for the Chicago Cubs.
Paul DePodesta '95, is a former General Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was formerly with the Oakland A's as an Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Player Development and Scouting for the New York Mets.
David Forst '98 began his front office career in 2000 as a scout for the Oakland Athletics and is now the General Manager for the A's.
Rick Hahn '96 joined the Chicago White Sox front office in 2002 and is the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the White Sox.
Shawn Haviland '08 was selected in the 33rd round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Oakland Athletics. Haviland was first assigned to the A's affiliate Vancouver Canadians. Between 2010-2017, the former Crimson pitcher signed with the Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox, and Cleveland Indians, playing for multiple MiLB teams. As of December 2018, Haviland is a Pitching Performance Coach for the Boston Red Sox.
Trey Hendricks '04 is the Director of International Scouting for the Reds and is a former Diamondbacks draft pick.
Michael Hill '93 was drafted in the 31st round by the Texas Rangers in the 1993 MLB Draft. Hill made the switch to a front office roll in 1995, assisting in scouting and player development for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The former Crimson baseball team captain is currently the President of Baseball Operations for the Miami Marlins.
Jake McGuiggan '15 played for the New Britain Bees and Long Island Ducks in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. McGuiggan is currently a Minor League Analyst Coach for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Ben Sestanovich '10, a former pitcher for the Crimson, is the Assistant Director of Player Development for the San Diego Padres.
Matthew Silverman '98 helped structure the bid to buy controlling interest in the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, changing the name to the Tampa Bay Rays when he was hired as President of the team before the 2008 season. Silverman became Director of Baseball Operations for the Rays in 2014.
Jonathan Strangio '10 was hired by the Los Angeles Angels in 2012 and was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2015.
David Stearns '07 serves as the President of Baseball Operations and General Manager of the Milwaukee Brewers. When hired as G.M. in 2015, Stearns was the youngest general manager in MLB.
Steffan Wilson '07 was a minor league player under the Milwaukee Brewers and transitioned to the front office as a scout. In 2015, the Los Angeles Angels hired Wilson as a National Crosschecker.
Peter Woodfork '99 has worked for the Arizona Diamond Backs and Boston Red Sox before being hired as the Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations for Major League Baseball. Woodfork now also oversees the On-Field Operations department, such as overseeing umpires and instant replays.
