CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Two late empty-net scores from senior
Becca Gilmore helped No. 10/10 Harvard women's hockey (3-0-0, 2-0-0 ECAC Hockey) upset No. 9/9 Cornell (1-2-0, 0-1-0 ECAC Hockey) on Friday night at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center.

Becky Dutton stood her ground, making 26 saves on 27 shots from the Big Red.
Harvard has not beaten Cornell since January 2016 and the win marks the program's 699th since gaining varsity status in 1978-79.
Less than four minutes into the contest,
Anne Bloomer cracked the scoreboard first when she flicked the puck over Cornell's shoulder and into the net. The goal was her first of the season. At 8:11 of the opening frame, the Big Red struck back, evening the score on the power-play.
Becky Dutton made 13 of her 26 saves in the first 20 minutes of action.
Midway through the second period,
Dominique Petrie dangled through the Cornell defense for the go-ahead and eventual game-winning goal.
Cornell held Harvard to the 2-1 lead through the majority of the third period until just under two minutes when the Big Red pulled its goalie.
Becca Gilmore took full advantage of the empty net, scoring twice in the closing minutes to put an exclamation point on the Crimson's win.
