CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second straight night, an explosive period keyed a victory for No. 14/15 Harvard men's ice hockey (2-0-0), as five goals in the first frame helped the Crimson earn a 7-3 victory over Bentley (3-4-0) in the team's home opener at Bright-Landry Hockey Center

Sean Farrell had two goals and two assists, junior captain
Nick Abruzzese notched four assists, and junior defenseman
Henry Thrun had five assists to key the Crimson offense.

John Farinacci also added a pair of goals for Harvard, which recorded 16 goals in two games this weekend.

Mitchell Gibson made 18 saves to earn the win in net, as Harvard outshot Bentley 39-21 for the game.
Farinacci got things started for Harvard in a busy first period, putting in his own rebound at :58 to give the Crimson an early lead. Farrell struck on Harvard's first power play of the night with a beautiful one-timer off a feed from Thrun at 4:52.
With the teams playing 4-on-4 minutes later, it was defenseman
Ryan Siedem getting into the fun, as he cleaned up a rebound on a 3-on-2 rush at 9:51 to make it 3-0 Harvard. Goals by Farinacci (16:33) and Farrell again on the power play at 19:05 made it a five goal period, and put Harvard up 5-1 after the opening 20 minutes.
In the second period, Harvard responded to an early Bentley power play goal (1:33) by Phil Knies, as first-year forward
Alex Laferriere scored his first career goal, putting in a rebound off the back boards at 4:40 to make it 6-2.

Matthew Coronato (goal, assist) scored a spectacular goal at 17:18 of the second period to round out the scoring for Harvard, cutting through three Bentley defenders and finishing high to make it 7-2.
Bentley added a third period goal by Kohei Sato at 8:30 to account for the final score.
Harvard Highlights
- Junior defenseman Henry Thrun (five assists) is the first Harvard player to record five assists in a game since Tim Pettit '04 did it against Princeton (W, 6-3) on Dec. 6, 2002.
- Both Sean Farrell and John Farinacci scored twice, marking the first time that Harvard has had two two-goal scorers in a game since Mar. 7, 2020 (W, 7-1 vs. St. Lawrence – Reilly Walsh and Jack Drury).

- Harvard finished the night 2-for-5 on the power play, one night after going 3-for-6 on the man advantage. Over its first two games, Harvard is 5-for-11 (45.4%) on the man advantage.
- Harvard has won six straight games (all six meetings) in the series against Bentley.
