CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Concluding its five-match homestand tonight at the Malkin Athletic Center, the Harvard women's volleyball team (9-10, 6-4 Ivy) nearly overcame a two-set deficit against Penn (6-13, 3-7 Ivy), before falling in extra points in the fifth set. The Crimson suffered a 3-2 setback by set scores of 18-25, 17-25, 25-17 and 16-18.
Five Crimson players recorded double-digit kills against the Quakers, led by sophomore
Ashley Wang with 14.
Nicole Prescott finished just behind Wang with 11 kills, while
Olivia Cooper,
Jaimie Rao and
Katie Vorhies each tallied 10 apiece. Three Crimson players split setting duties tonight, led by sophomore
Bella Almanza with a team-best 22 assists. Wang contributed 13 to record her seventh double-double of the season, while first-year
Rocky Aguirre notched 10 helpers. The trio connected Harvard on 58 total kills on the night.
First-year
Lindsey Zhang led the Crimson's defensive efforts in the backcourt, posting 16 digs. Prescott joined her in double figures with 10 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. Wang was just two digs away from a triple-double, adding eight to her tally as well. At the net, sophomore
Ariana White and Rao led the way with five blocks each, while
Ava Rauser, Cooper and Wang added three apiece.

Nicole Prescott hit at a .385 clip with 11 kills and just one error.

- Harvard posted a match-high .462 hitting percentage in the fourth set, and outhit Penn .291 to .280 on the night.
