BALTIMORE, Md. – Three Harvard men's lacrosse first-years have been ranked among the top collegiate freshmen lacrosse players on the Inside Lacrosse Power 100 Incoming Freshmen Rankings. The list contains the top 100 freshmen in collegiate lacrosse.
Annually, Inside Lacrosse releases its Power 100 rankings as a view of the incoming freshmen predicted to make an impact in NCAA Division I Lacrosse. For 2020, the Power 100 list was pushed to the spring to allow for more information given the uniqueness of the athletes' past year.
Leading the way for the Crimson is goalie
George Alvarez, who was ranked 27th on the list. The Bel Air, Md. native comes to Harvard after lettering for four years and starting for three at St. John's College High School. The 2020 Under Armour All-American selection was ranked the No. 2 goalie recruit and No. 37 overall recruit by Inside Lacrosse in the Class of 2020. Alvarez was also named a 2018 and 2019 Under Armour Underclass All-American.
Defenseman
Collin Bergstrom ranks No. 62 on the list for the Crimson. Hailing from nearby Winchester, Mass., Bergstrom joins the Crimson after lettering and starting for four years at Roxbury Latin. Inside Lacrosse ranked Bergstrom the No. 63 recruit in the Class of 2020, and he received the 2020 U.S. Lacrosse Bob Scott Award his senior year.
Rounding out the list for the Crimson,
Andrew O'Berry ranks No. 96. O'Berry arrives in Cambridge from McLean, Va. after lettering and starting for three years at Gonzaga College High School. A 2019 All-Met Honorable Mention, O'Berry was named to the 2019 WCAC All-Conference First Team and All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2018.
