Meet the Coaches - Andrew Rueb, Men's Tennis

Where are you originally from?
A suburb of Cleveland, Ohio.

Which Entryway/House are you working with this year?
Wigglesworth G and Proctor Joanne Kang as well as PAF Matt Thomas. They are all-stars.

Favorite thing to do to stay active during COVID-19?
In the spring-fall, it was certainly playing tennis and golf. Both are great ways to be outside and safe and socially distanced. It gets much harder in the winter! I do yoga most mornings using the down dog app and also do a headspace meditation app - really helps me start the day on the right foot.

Favorite healthy snack/meal before a big day/game day?
I'm a big snacker. I love hummus and carrots, applesauce as well as almonds and raisins.

Go-to song when you need to change your day around?
I'm a huge jazz fan. I'm always listening to the greats like Oscar Peterson or Joshua Redman but my favorite tune has to be "Blackbird" by Brad Mehldau - his version of the classic Beatles tune.

Favorite thing about working at Harvard?
The community. I love the faculty, my colleagues in the athletic department and especially the students. They bring so much energy and engagement that it keeps me young at heart. I also really enjoy being able to get outside my athletics bubble and come by ArtsFirst weekend and see all the productions that the students are working on or attend a lecture during the term or catching a visiting speaker - like the time I saw Seamus Heaney at Harvard!
