The first 10 students to register for the tour will receive a free adventure pass from Blue Bikes, which includes unlimited 2-hour rides for a 24-hour period, so they can participate in the tour via Blue Bikes!

Meet the Coaches - Matt O'Neil, Men's and Women's Diving

Where are you originally from?
Cleveland, Ohio

Which Entryway/House are you working with this year?
Eliot and Pforzheimer Houses.

Favorite thing to do to stay active during COVID-19?
Since the season ended last March, I have put about 1,500 miles on my bike. Mostly riding local mountain bike trails, but also really enjoyed riding on the streets downtown when traffic was at it's lowest in April. There is also a great pump track behind the athletic facilities to help hone my skills on both my bike and skateboard.

Favorite healthy snack/meal before a big day/game day?
The biggest thing for me is eating what I am familiar with, so I know how my body will react. If we are competing in the morning, I love a well-balanced breakfast complete with some form of eggs and potatoes. For the afternoon I like to stick to old reliable - a turkey club!

Go-to song when you need to change your day around?
Music is a big influence for me, so depending on what needs turned around some of my go-tos are "Hero" by Weezer, "It Was a Good Day" by Ice Cube, and "All Killer No Filler" (full album) by Sum 41.

Favorite thing about working at Harvard?
As cliché as it may sound, my favorite part of working at Harvard has been getting to know such amazing student-athletes. Not only do they amaze me with their athletic skills, and ability to compete with any team in the country, hearing about their lives outside the pool is fascinating. Whether they are focused on their midterms, finding jobs, or different organizations they are involved in, they put forth their best effort and make their work meaningful. As a team we approach our sport as their time to de-stress, build confidence, and have fun, so I also get to see their goofy side which has been hilarious. I also love driving along the Charles River during sunrise. It is beautiful and does not get old!
