No. 20 Men's Ice Hockey Falls Late to Clarkson, 4-3

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – John Farinacci and Alex Gaffney each had a goal and an assist, but Clarkson's two late-third period goals helped the Golden Knights (12-7-5, 7-2-3 ECAC Hockey) earn a 4-3 win over No. 20 Harvard men's ice hockey 9-6-1, 7-4-1 ECAC Hockey) at Bright-Landry Hockey Center.
 
Sophomore goaltender Derek Mullahy made 20 saves in net, and first-year Zakary Karpa scored for the second consecutive night for the Crimson.
 
A back and forth four-goal first period saw the two teams tied at 2-2 after the opening 20 minutes. Farinacci finished off an odd-man rush at :29 of the opening period. But Clarkson's Anthony Romano scored on a deflection in front under a minute later at 1:24 to tie the game.
 
Karpa once again gave Harvard a lead, crashing the net for a rebound off a Matthew Coronato shot at 4:38 to make it 2-1 Harvard.
 
Romano answered again for Clarkson with a power play goal at 8:56 to tie the game.
 
Midway through the second period, Gaffney crashed the net to poke home a power play goal at 7:58, giving Harvard a 3-2 lead heading into the third period.
 
But Nick Campoli scored for Clarkson at 13:26, flipping a shot past Mullahy from the short side. Then Gosselin scored on a rebound in front at 14:48 to give Clarkson the lead for good.
