NEW HAVEN, Conn. – First-year
Amy Wotovich won 1-meter diving, and senior
Felicia Pasadyn placed second in a pair of events as Harvard University women's swimming and diving completed competition at the annual Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet on Saturday at Yale's Kiphuth Exhibition Pool.
On the second and final day of competition, the Crimson (6-2, 5-2 Ivy) fell to the host Bulldogs (9-0, 7-0 Ivy) – 211-89 – and to the Tigers (8-1, 6-1 Ivy) – 202-98. Yale topped Princeton, 182-118, as both the Bulldogs and Tigers opted to wear their tech suits at the meet.
Wotovich won the 1-meter with a 295.90 while senior
Morgane Herculano supported her with a second-place finish in the event. Pasadyn captured second place in both the 200 backstroke and 200 IM.
On day one of the meet, senior
Esther Lawrence won 3-meter diving, first-year
Molly Hamlin came in second in the 200 freestyle, Pasadyn came in third in the 200 butterfly, and sophomore
Elizabeth Miclau finished third in 3-meter diving.
Harvard Highlights
- First-year Amy Wotovich won 1-meter diving with a score of 295.90 while senior Morgane Herculano placed second with a season-best 291.80. Both marks stood above the NCAA standard of 265.
- Senior Felicia Pasadyn came in second in the 200-yard backstroke with a 1:57.39, finishing just 0.07 seconds out of first place, while also placing second in the 200-yard individual medley behind a time of 2:02.15.
- Closing the meet, Harvard came in fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay behind a time of 3:30.45 from the quartet of first-year Mandy Brenner, junior Samantha Shelton, sophomore Addie Rose Bullock, and junior Darlene Fung.
- Junior Samantha Shelton paced the Crimson in the 100-yard freestyle with a season-best 50.95 for fifth place.
- In the 500-yard freestyle, senior Helena Moreno came in seventh in 5:00.62.
- In the 200-yard breaststroke, sophomore Victoria Eisenhauer placed eighth in 2:24.33.
- First-year Molly Hamlin finished ninth in the 100-yard butterfly in 56.22.
