CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's hockey team (1-1-0, 1-1-0 ECAC) came away with its first win of the 2022-23 campaign after a 3-0 victory against the Dartmouth Big Green.

Seven different players notched points and sophomore goaltender,
Alex Pellicci, made 26 saves, recording her second career shutout to seal the win for Harvard.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kristin Della Rovere gave Harvard the early advantage with a goal 11 seconds into the action. Anne Bloomer and Jade Arnone had the assists on the go-ahead strike. The assist for Arnone was the first point of her career.
- Dartmouth went on a brief rush but starting goaltender, Alex Pellicci, calmed things down with three consecutive saves.
- Pellicci made 12 saves in the first period to preserve the Harvard lead.
- The Crimson defense stood tall in the second period, not allowing a shot to reach the net for eight minutes.
- The Crimson scored two goals in a span of 48 seconds to close out the second frame. First it was Ellie Bayard who scored off passes from Sophie Ensley and Kayley Crawford. Both assists served as their first career points.
- Anne Bloomer knocked in her second goal of the season with just seconds left of the clock after a flurry of shots from the Crimson.
- The Crimson held a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes and outshot the Big Green 10-6 in the second period.
- Alex Pellicci made eight more saves in the third period to preserve the win.
- At the end of regulation, Harvard remained up 3-0 and notched its first win of 2022-23.

- Anne Bloomer has her second straight multi-point night with an assist in the first period and a goal in the second
- Harvard's penalty kill performed well in its first action of the season, killing off both Dartmouth power play opportunities
- Harvard dominated in the faceoff circle, winning 30 of 45 draws

UP NEXT
Harvard will be back at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center next weekend to host the first series of the season on Oct. 28-29. First, the Crimson will welcome the Bears to Cambridge with a game at 6 pm on Friday night before facing off against the Yale Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at 3 pm. Both games can be streamed live on ESPN+.
