Sean Farrell each had a goal and an assist to lead a group of nine different goal scorers as No. 15/15 Harvard men's ice hockey defeated Guelph, 9-0, in its final exhibition game before the start of the 2022-23 season.
First-year
Marek Hejduk added three assists to lead the Crimson parade of point-scorers.
Harvard outshot Guelph 38-15 on the night, finishing the game 4-for-4 on the penalty kill while scoring two power play goals, and adding a shorthanded tally.
The Crimson scored four goals in the first period, holding the visiting Gryphons without a shot to take control of the contest early on.
Senior
Austin Wong got things started for Harvard, jamming in a rebound at 5:56 of the first period. Well-placed shots by sophomore
Matthew Coronato (11:56) and Farrell (13:07) made it 3-0 Harvard, with Farrell's goal coming on the power play after a major penalty called on visiting Guelph midway through the frame.
First-year
Joe Miller added a power play goal on the same major penalty at 16:19 to round out the first period scoring for Harvard.
Sophomore
Alex Gaffney added a tally on a goal from in close at 1:14 of the second period and senior
Jace Foskey scored his first goal in a Harvard uniform on a shot from the point at 3:23.
Moore added a goal of his own on a wrist shot from the right circle at 5:10 of the middle frame to make it 7-0 Harvard.
Sophomore
Zakary Karpa scored on a shorthanded chance from in front set up by
Alex Laferriere at 10:06 of the second period. Tresca scored at 8:09 of the third period on a great individual move to get to the front of the net, hitting the top corner to round out the scoring.
First-year goaltender
Aku Koskenvuo made seven saves in two periods of action, while junior
Derek Mullahy stopped all eight shots he faced in the third.

Harvard will open up the regular season at Bright-Landry Hockey Center next weekend with games against Dartmouth and Princeton on Oct. 28-29. Harvard's game on Friday night will air at 7 pm and be streamed on ESPN+. Harvard's game against Princeton on Oct. 29 starts at 8 p.m. and will air on NESN.
