CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After two first-place finishes last weekend at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship and the Yale Women's Regatta, Harvard sailing swept the NEISA weekly awards for weekend seven earning both Open and Women's Sailors of the Week honors.
For the second time this year, first-years
Justin Callahan and
Kennedy Leehealey were named the Open Sailors of the Week. The two helped lift the Crimson to victory at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship after their impressive showing in the B-division. The pair took first in the B-division by finishing in the top five in 11 of the 14 races. The duo finished with a score of 61 through the two-day regatta.
In addition,
Cordelia Burn and
Emily Launderville received the Women's Saliors of the Week honors. The two put up an impressive performance at the Yale Women's Regatta last weekend where they helped boost Harvard to their second first-place finish of the weekend. Due to weather, the regatta became a one-day event and the duo finished in the top two in five of the eight races throughout Sunday. Bringing in a total of 26 points for the Crimson, the pair finished first in the B-division.
The Crimson close out team competition this weekend at the Urn Trophy and Schell Trophy regattas. The final regatta of the season will occur next weekend as
Sophia Montgomery competes at the Women's Singlehanded National Championships.
