Duncan and Owensby Wrap up Competition at Prestigious All-American Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard women's tennis has wrapped up competition at the All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. Sophomore Maxi Duncan and first-year Charlotte Owensby competed in the prestigious tournament which featured the nation's top NCAA Division I players.

In doubles, the duo of Owensby and Duncan won in the first round of the tournament, but fell short in the round of 16 of the pre-qualifying draw, losing 8-4 to Imani Graham and Kat Lyman from Xavier University.

In singles, Owensby defeated Emma Valletta of VCU 6-3, 6-1 in the opening round of the pre-qualifying draw before falling to Wisocnsin's Taylor Cataldi 7-5, 6-4. 

In the singles qualifying draw, Duncan lost a tightly contested match against the #32 ranked player in the country, Reilly Tran of UNC. In the consolation round, Duncan fell to Auburn's Ariana Arseneault.

Maxi Duncan as well as Rachel Arbitman and Mihaela Marculescu will head to New Haven, CT. to compete in the ITA Northeast Super Regionals on Oct. 21 - Oct. 24.
