Cambridge, Mass. – The Harvard volleyball team opened their final weekend of play at Brown on Friday, Nov. 11. Harvard (5-16, 4-9 Ivy) was swept by Brown (13–9, 9-4 Ivy) 0-3 in three sets of 12-25, 17-25 and 21-25.
The Brown Bears started out the night with a dominating performance, building a lead over the Crimson early in set one. Their lead made it hard for the Crimson to make a comeback and the Bears reached 25 first.
Set two started in a similar fashion, but Harvard was able to tie it up multiple times throughout the set. The Crimson out-blocked Brown 5-1 in set two, closing the Bears' lead but ultimately falling 17-25 in set two.
Set three was a closer battle, with the Crimson going on two three-point runs to take a 12-11 lead midway through the set. The two teams continued to pass the lead back and fourth with another tie at 20. Harvard out-blocked the Bears again 5-3 but could not score the final points it needed to score a set victory.
