Chris Ledlum has earned Ivy League Player of the Week, and first-year forward
Chisom Okpara has gained Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after helping the Crimson post a 2-0 record this past week, the Ivy League conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Ledlum averaged 23.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game last week, while shooting 71.4 percent (20-of-28 field goals) from the field. Ledlum scored a game and career-high 29 points on 12-of-17 field goals and 3-of-5 3-pointers with four rebounds and two blocks in a 70-69 win at Northeastern. He followed that with 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting with four boards and a career-high four steals in a 69-59 victory over Siena in Harvard's home opener.
Okpara tallied 13.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game last week, while shooting 73.3 percent (11-of-15 field goals) from the field. Okpara netted a game and career-high 24 points on 10-of-13 field goals, 1-of-2 3-pointers, and 3-of-4 free throws alongside eight rebounds in the Crimson's 69-59 win over Siena in its home opener. He led the team in rebounds (10) and assists (three) in a 70-69 victory at Northeastern.
Okpara gained Ivy League Rookie of the Week accolades for the second straight week to open the season.
