CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Eight Harvard University football student-athletes have earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, including seniors

Austin Gentle, CSC announced on Tuesday afternoon.

This past fall, Bank and Gentle blocked for the Ivy League's leading rusher, Borguet, and played key roles on an offensive line that ranked fourth in the NCAA in tackles for loss allowed per game (4.00) and 16th in the NCAA in sacks allowed per game (1.20).

Borguet ran for 1,182 rushing yards this past season, ranking fifth all-time in Harvard single-season history and becoming just the eighth running back in program history to break the 1,000-yard plateau in a single season. For his career, he rushed for 2,429 yards, ranking eighth all-time in program history. Borguet earned a spot on the Walter Payton Award Watch List, given to the nation's best offensive player.

Jones led the Ivy League in tackles for loss (13.0) and ranked third in the conference in sacks (6.0), while standing fourth in the NCAA this past season in blocked kicks (three). A semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, given to the nation's premier football scholar-athlete, he earned the 2022 Bulger Lowe Award, given to New England's best defensive player.

Lipel connected on 10-of-16 field goals, while making 33-of-33 extra points this past season. He made two or more field goals in each of four games in 2022, while ranking third in the Ivy League in field goals made (10). For his career, he converted 25-of-35 field goals (71.4 percent), while making 72-of-73 extra points.

Tademy tied for the team lead in takeaways (two – one interception, one fumble recovery) this past fall, while pacing the Crimson in pass breakups (nine). He totaled 35 tackles on the season and posted career high for tackles, solo tackles (21) and tackles for loss (2.0).

Washington led the Crimson in interceptions for the second straight season with two interceptions in 2022 after coming up with four picks in 2021. He tallied 34 tackles this past fall alongside five pass breakups.

Hudson ranked second on the team in tackles (50) this past fall, while standing second in solo tackles (28), first in assisted tackles (22), fifth in tackles for loss (6.0), fifth in sacks (2.0), fourth in pass breakups (three), third in quarterback hurries (three), first in fumble recoveries (one), and second in fumbles forced (one).

The 2022 Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in December.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
