KANSAS CITY, Mo. - On the heels of their phenomenal sophomore seasons, Harvard women's soccer student-athletes
Hannah Bebar and
Jade Rose were named United Soccer Coaches All-Americans this afternoon. After her All-America Third-Team selection a year ago, Bebar landed on the First-Team in 2022. Rose landed on the Second-Team, her first appearance on the All-America team.
This marks the fourth time in program history in which two players were selected as All-Americans and the first since the 1999 season. Bebar is also just the fifth player in program history to earn multiple All-America honors.
The Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, Rose led a Harvard defense that allowed only 12 goals in the entire 2022 season and a league low 93 shots to opponents and seven times were held to under five shot attempts. Rose averaged 88.4 minutes per game this season and played the full 90 minutes in all but one contest in 2022. The center back has also earned United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-Region honors and a selection to the All-Ivy League First-Team.
A unanimous selection to the All-Ivy League First Team for the second straight season, Bebar was also highlighted on the All-America release, landing on the first team. A United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-Region selection, the midfielder led the team with 20 points on six goals and eight assists in the regular season. The Illinois native also just was announced as a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, one of only 15 players in the nation to receive the honor.
These two outstanding student-athletes played a crucial role in helping the Crimson reach the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season, helping the team earn a top-32 seed and a home game in the first round of the tournament, as well.
