Radcliffe Heavyweight Rowing Returns to the Charles River for Race Against Brown

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard-Radcliffe Heavyweight Rowing will return to its home course on the Charles River this Saturday for a regatta with its Ivy League rival, Brown. The races are set to take place this Sunday, April 3.
 
The Black and White can expect rough conditions on the Charles Sunday morning with temperatures expected to be in the low-50s and the winds around 5-10 mph.

  • Harvard-Radcliffe last raced on the Charles River on April 27, 2019, posting a time of 7:21.7 to capture the Rowlands Trophy by defeating Northeastern
 
AT THE HELM
Liz O'Leary, The Friends of Radcliffe Rowing Head Coach for Women's Heavyweight Crew, enters her 36th season as the leader of the Radcliffe Heavyweights. O'Leary has brought the Black and White to the pinnacle of women's collegiate rowing and made Radcliffe a perennial contender for national championships since joining the program in 1986. The team has enjoyed success under O'Leary and has continued throughout her tenure with over 200 dual wins, top-finishing crews at Sprints, and appearances at national championships.
 
UP NEXT
The Radcliffe Heavyweights will return to action next weekend when it makes the trek down I-90 to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. There, the Black and White will battle four opponents including Princeton, Cornell, Bucknell and Syracuse on Fish Creek.
