TAMPERE, Finland – Sophomore forward
Sean Farrell is among 24 players named to the 2022 U.S. Men's National Team that will compete at the 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship May 13-29 in Tampere and Helsinki, Finland.
Farrell and the United States will kick off preliminary round play tomorrow against Latvia at 9:20 a.m. (ET), which will be the start of eight preliminary round games. The quarterfinal round will begin on May 26, with semifinals on May 28, and medal games on May 29.
Farrell, an All-Ivy League Honorable Mention selection, recorded 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 24 games, leading all NCAA first-years in pointers per game scoring (1.17 points per contest). He was one of Harvard's top players during its postseason run to the NCAA Tournament, notching nine points (two goals, seven assists) in six postseason games.
A native of Hopkinton, Mass., Farrell starred on the U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey team at the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games along with Harvard teammate
Nick Abruzzese. Farrell led Team USA in scoring at the Games, notching six points (three goals, three assists) at four games.
