WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Two Harvard Heavyweight Rowing varsity eight crews will compete in grand finals tomorrow after placing in the top-three in their semifinal races this afternoon at the IRA National Championships on Mercer Lake. The 3V boat led the way with a first place finish in their semifinal, posting a time of 5:47.185 in a 3-plus second victory.
 
The 1V crew placed third in their semifinal and will move on to the grand final after posting a time of 5:40.365. The Crimson sealed the spot by defeating Northeastern, Princeton and Navy in the six-crew race.
 
The Crimson 2V boat finished fifth in their semifinal race and will move on to compete in the petite final tomorrow.
 
After a second-place finish in their semifinal yesterday afternoon, the Harvard Heavyweight Fours boat placed fourth in the grand final with a time of 6:24.769, just four seconds off the pace set by the champion, Princeton.
