Women's Tennis Begins 2022-23 Season by Hosting Harvard Fall Classic

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard women's tennis begins its 2022-23 campaign by hosting the Harvard Fall Classic, Sept. 16-18. Harvard will welcome five schools to Cambridge to compete in the event, including Boston University, Boston College, University of North Texas, Providence College, and University of Rhode Island. The event will take place at the Beren Tennis Center. However, if there is inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Murr Center Tennis Courts.

What to Know

  • Each day of the tournament will begin with doubles starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. After doubles, singles matches will begin. Sunday's singles matches will be the finals of each draw.  

  • The Crimson returns 10 players who competed in the 2021-22 season, including senior Sophia Ho who was awarded with the Most Outstanding Athlete last season for the Crimson, and sophomore Maxi Duncan who was named to the Second Team All-Ivy League last season. 

  • Harvard women's tennis welcomes one new member to the team, first-year Charlotte Owensby (Boca Raton, Fla.).

Leading the Way

  • Traci Green, The Sheila Kelly Palandjian Head Coach for Harvard Women's Tennis, enters her 16th season as the team's head coach.

  • Harvard welcomes assistant coach Daniella Silva, who enters her first season with the Crimson after serving two years as an assistant coach at Baylor University.

Up Next

The Crimson will head to Hanover, New Hampshire to compete in the ITA Northeast Regionals from Sept. 30 - Oct. 2.
