Martin Vician scored a pair of goals for the second straight game, and senior
Ale Gutierrez added a tally as Harvard University men's soccer defeated Quinnipiac University, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon to remain undefeated at Jordan Field on the season.
The Crimson (3-2-0) established a 1-0 lead at halftime and extended the margin to 3-0 in the second half before the Bobcats (4-2-1) – who entered the match with a 4-0-1 record in their previous five games – netted a tally in the 83
rd minute. Vician found the back of the net in the 12
th and 55
th minutes before Gutierrez converted in the 75
th minute.

- Senior Martin Vician scored two goals in a game for the second straight match after also accomplishing the feat vs. Northeastern on Sept. 13. He now has three career braces and 13 career goals. Vician leads the Crimson with four goals and eight points on the year.
- Senior Ale Gutierrez notched his first goal of 2022 and tallied his second career goal.
- Five different Crimson student-athletes registered assists in the match as seniors Nico Garcia-Morillo and Duncan Sutherland, sophomore Alessandro Arlotti, and first-years Ethan Veghte and Zachary Sardi-Santos each posted a helper.
- Garcia-Morillo and Arlotti each notched his second assist of the season while Sutherland, Veghte, and Sardi-Santos recorded an assist for the first time in 2022.
- For the year, 13 different Crimson student-athletes have entered the points column.
- Senior goalkeeper Oskar Nilsson made four saves in the victory.
- Among the Crimson's field players, junior Nik White and sophomore Jan Riecke each played the full 90 minutes. Riecke has competed in all 450 minutes on the season.
- Harvard held a 7-6 edge in shots on goal.
- The Crimson improved to 3-0-0 on the season at Jordan Field.
How It Happened
- Senior Martin Vician opened the scoring at the 11:54 mark. Sophomore Alessandro Arlotti played in a perfectly weight ball from the left side into the box where an oncoming Vician then slotted a one-time shot into the goal.
- Vician doubled the Crimson's lead to 2-0 at the 54:41 mark. After senior Nico Garcia-Morillo played a ball up to first-year Ethan Veghte, Veghte sent in a cross from the left side, allowing Vician to again score on a one-time strike.
- Senior Ale Gutierrez capped the scoring for the Crimson at 74:50. After first-year Zachary Sardi-Santos sent a throw-in to senior Duncan Sutherland, Sutherland turned and played a ball across the face of the goal, positioning Gutierrez to drive a shot into the back of the net.
- Quinnipiac cut into its deficit at 82:04 as Sam McCann scored on a shot from close range following a ball sent up the field from Sander Sonsterud.
