Durham, N.C. – The Harvard volleyball team faced the Duke Blue Devils in their final non-conference match of the season. Harvard (1-7) was swept by Duke (9-2) 3-0 in three sets of 16-25, 21-25 and 25-14.
The Harvard volleyball team had a strong start in set one of the day, taking the lead for the first ten points. The Blue Devils then went on a long scoring run and were able to win the first set. The Crimson fell behind early in set two and began a comeback later in the set, unfortunately falling short of the win. In the third and final set of the day the Crimson took the lead early in the set once again but were outplayed during the second half to cement the Blue Devils' victory.
The Harvard team was led by Katie Vorhies for the second match in a row in kills and points. Vorhies scored seven kills and 7.5 points throughout the three sets at today's matinee match. First-year Brynne Faltinsky followed closely behind with six kills and 26 attacks.
Harvard Highlights
- Harvard outscored the Blue Devils in kills in set one, scoring ten compared to Duke's eight.
- The Crimson scored three aces during the match: two from Rocky Aguirre and one from Lindsey Zhang.
