Women’s Rugby Remains Undefeated, Tops Sacred Heart, 27-5

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard women's rugby moved to 4-0 after playing its tightest game of the season against Sacred Heart, winning 27-5 on Friday night at Mignone Field.

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS

  • Brogan Mior scored the first try of the game and her third for the season, while scoring the only conversion of the game. Mior is the lead conversion scorer for the team this season with a total of nine including tonight's game. (Watch Twitter Highlight Video)
  • Achele Agada scored the second try of the game and her first try of the season. (Watch Twitter Highlight Video)
  • Cameron Fields has been the only player so far to score a try in every game this season. She is the second leading scorer on the team with a total of 35 points.
  • Tiahna Padilla scored the only Crimson try for the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Within the first few minutes the Crimson crept up to the try zone through a few scrums, showing strong offense pushing the line of scrimmage meter by meter.
  • The majority of the first 20 minutes of play were within the same 30 meters with Harvard trying to find an opening.
  • This season the team is so fast and so skilled, and that is very much highlighted by the first-year players.
  • Tonight was the tightest game the team has seen so far this season, particularly compared to its last matchup against Princeton where the Crimson dominated with not only a shutout but a triple-digit score.
  • Lennox London may not be the tallest player on the team, but she packs a mighty punch, charging through the defense to notch more meters carried. London is the leading scorer on the team for the season with a total of 40 points. (Watch Twitter Highlight Video)
  • Tiahna Padilla has been been so involved in the game but could not find an opening until she scored the first try of the second half. She is so fast that the defense did not even try and catch her. (Watch Twitter Highlight Video)
  • Sacred Heart scored its first try with less than a minute left on the clock.
