Men’s Golf Travels to Long Island for Hamptons Intercollegiate

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's golf will compete in the penultimate tournament of its Fall campaign this weekend at the Hamptons Intercollegiate at the Maidstone Club. The Golf Digest Top 100 club will host a field of 11 teams in a 54-hole format on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 2-3.
 

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

  • Hamptons Intercollegiate hosted by Loyola University Maryland
  • East Hampton, N.Y. - Maidstone Club (6,665 yards, par 72, slope 139, course rating 73.0)
  • 2023 Field: Loyola Maryland, Alabama, UCLA, Georgetown, Harvard, Howard, Penn, Princeton, Ohio State, Virginia, Yale
 

WHAT TO KNOW

  • This will be Harvard's third tournament of the Fall season.
  • The Crimson finished in third at the Doc Gimmler (Sept. 9-10) and T-fifth at the MacDonald Cup (Sept. 23-24).
  • Brian Ma has gotten off to an amazing start to the 2023-24 season, finishing T-fifth at the Doc Gimmler before recording an impressive finish at the MacDonald Cup, finishing in second place.
  • Ma is four-under-par in 108 holes this season.
  • The senior captain also led the MacDonald Cup field in total birdies, carding 12 over 54 holes.
  • This will be the Crimson's first appearance at the Hamptons Intercollegiate.
  • The Crimson posted the best scoring average on par 3s at the MacDonald Cup  3.12), shooting seven-over par on the short holes.
  • Diego Saavedra-Davila had the second lowest total for the Crimson at the Doc Gimmler, carding a  208 (-2) with rounds of 66, 71 and 71 to finish T-13.
  • Senior Kevin Sze has also turned in solid scores this season, shooting a two-under 68 and an even-par 71 in each tournament.
 

UP NEXT

The Crimson will finish off its Fall season at the Alister Mackenzie Invitational in Fairfax Calif. next weekend. The 54-hole tournament will take place at the Meadow Club from Oct. 9-10.
