Men's Golf Opens Spring Slate at Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's golf opens its spring schedule this Friday at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, held at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina.

The 54-hole tournament marks the start of the Crimson's spring campaign following a fall season that saw the team post a number of strong individual and team results. This will be the program's third-ever appearance in the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, where it will look to begin its Spring season with strong result.

WHAT TO KNOW

  • It marks the third consecutive season that the Crimson will play in the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate. Two years ago, the Crimson finished sixth before returning last season with a third-place finish.

  • The Crimson shot a combined three-over-par as a team and was led by then-rookies William Ma and Barry Zhang, who finished the tournament tied for seventh, with the duo shooting one-under-par through three rounds. 

  • The Crimson found its stride as the fall season wound down, wrapping up its final tournament of 2025 with a second-place finish at the Georgetown Intercollegiate in Westfield, N.J.

  • In its first-ever trip to the Georgetown Intercollegiate, Harvard got off to a strong start after posting a team score of 302 (+18) in the opening round, thanks to strong rounds from Reese Jensen (71), Ieuan Jones (75), and Isaac Ahn (76).

  • In the final round, Harvard secured the second-place finish after posting a team score of 295 (+11).

NOTES

  • The Crimson tied for the second-most birdies in its last outing at the Georgetown Intercollegiate with 20.

  • Reese Jensen earned the highest finish of his career, tying for first with a tournament score of 143 (+1) at the Georgetown Intercollegiate.

  • The first-year led the field in par-5 scoring average at 4.17 (-5) and tied for the most birdies (9). Jensen also ranked T6 in par-4 scoring average at 4.23 (+5).

  • Barry Zhang also recorded a top-10 finish, placing 10th with a tournament score of 150 (+8), and ranked T3 in par-4 scoring average (4.14, +3).

  • Isaac Ahn secured his first top-25 finish of the year, tying for 20th alongside Leuan Jones, both at 152 (+10), to close out the fall season.

NEXT UP 

The Crimson returns to action April 11-12 at the Princeton Invitational in its final tune-up before the Ivy League Championship in late April.
