PRINCETON, N.J – No. 11 Harvard field hockey (10-3, 5-0 Ivy) defeated Ivy rival Princeton 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson got firsts from
Maddie Mullaney and
Kate Oliver as each scored their first goals of the season. Oliver eventually got a second goal in the second half while
Kitty Chapple also found the back of the net. Harvard improves to 5-0 in Ivy Play with two remaining Ivy games left against Penn and Cornell.
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS
- With the win over the Tigers, Harvard has won eight of its last nine games and five in a row. The Crimson are averaging three goals a game throughout this streak.
- Emily Guckian added two more points to her season totals after adding a pair of assists. Guckian now has twenty-five points and is riding a nine-game point streak.
- Kate Oliver scored a goal off a corner attempt and another off a pass from Emily Guckian. The two-goal performance from Oliver was her first career multigoal game.
- Maddie Mullaney scored her first goal of the season late in the fourth quarter off another Emily Guckian pass.
- Tessa Shahbo was sharp when she had to be as the sophomore only had to make two saves in four quarters. Shahbo hasn't let up a goal in 150+ minutes.
