CARY, NC – Rachel Arbitman and
Iveta Daujotaite of Harvard women's tennis concluded their run at the ITA All-American Championships this afternoon after battling tightly with Dana Guzman/Alina Shcherbinina (Oklahoma) in the doubles main draw round of 16.
The duo looked strong in their final match of the tournament, beginning the day by winning the first set. After the Oklahoma duo kept the match neck-and-neck in the first, the Crimson won the final two games to take the opening set, 6-4. The Sooners pulled ahead in the second set but a resilient Crimson duo battled back before falling, 6-2. With each duo taking a set, the match moved to tiebreakers. The Sooners were ultimately able to hold off the Crimson pressure to win the tiebreak, 10-2, and claim the overall victory.
Overall, the Crimson duo had a strong showing in the doubles main draw at the ITA All-American Championships, winning their opening round match in straight sets and then battling to the end in the round of 16.
