Volleyball to Celebrate Senior Day, Hosts Brown and Yale for Final Home Contests of 2023

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's volleyball team (13-6, 6-4 Ivy) will have one last weekend with home court advantage in the 2023 regular season as the Crimson play host to Brown and Yale on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Saturday's match will serve as the team's senior day celebration and both matches will air on ESPN+.

Friday's match against Brown will start at 7 p.m. and Saturday's match against Yale will start at 5 p.m. The Crimson have a chance to clinch a spot in the Ivy League Tournament this weekend, depending on the results of both matches as well as results across the league.

What to Know

• Harvard has started the 2023 season 13-6 after winning seven non-conference games and starting the Ivy League campaign 6-4 through the first round of conference matchups and wins over Dartmouth and Columbia in rematches so far.
• The Crimson last played Columbia and Cornell, sweeping the Lions 3-0 and falling to the Big Red 3-2. Katie Vorhies led the team in points in both matches, with 14.5 against Cornell and 10 against Columbia.
Ashley Wang joined the 1000 club for the first time in her career after surpassing the 1000 career assists mark against Cornell. She is now up to 1023 total assists with 4.19 per set. She also has tied the Harvard single-season record for triple-doubles in one season with seven and will be the sole record holder if she can score an eighth this weekend.
• The Crimson team leads the Ivy League in blocks, having made 190 total blocks with an average of 2.68 blocks per set. In the Crimson's win over Dartmouth, Harvard made 23 blocks, which is the most so far of all Ivy League matches.
• The 2023 Harvard Volleyball team was ranked fifth in the Ivy League preseason poll but now sits tied for third with Brown with their 6-4 records. The top four teams will travel to the no. 1 seed's home to play in the Ivy League Tournament from Nov. 17-18.
• Harvard fell to both the Bears and Bulldogs by scores of 3-0 on the road earlier this season. The Crimson have hopes for home court advantage to reverse those results.
• Harvard trails Brown 38-44 in the all-time series and trails Yale 27-49. They hope to bring the series one game closer to even this weekend.
